Installing Theme
To start the theme installation first locate "cube.zip" within the package you already downloaded from Themeforest.
Unpack that file to "Desktop" where you can find it easily.
Than go to "Appearance" - "Themes" - "Install Themes" - "Upload" and point the file-dialog at "cube.zip"
Creating Default Home Page
To create a default home page, you need to create a new Page first by going to Pages - Add New and choose "Home" as a page template from the drop-down on the right.
Immediately there should appear new meta-boxes.
Home Layout
Use the builder there to build the home-page where will get populated posts from categories you choose, or place there custom HTML Markup if you need to place some add's or stuff like that.
Popular + Featured
The popular tab, defines the first portion of the slider Popular section, where you can configure the Posts logic how they will be displayed.
Featured Tab, defines the second option of the Slider on home page, where you can display posts Manually or Automatically.
If you click Manually, just click on the posts until they appear on the right of the section, or if you configure it Automatically, then on each post you can see a Checkbox, Featured so if you check that on some posts, they will appear on home page.
Creating Masonry Home Page
To create a masonry home page, you need to create a new Page first by going to Pages - Add New and choose "Home Masonry" as a page template from the drop-down on the right.
Immediately there should appear new meta-boxes also, same as home.
From there you can configure the posts query logic.
Creating Slider Home Page
To create a default slider home page, you need to create a new Page first by going to Pages - Add New and choose "Home Slider" as a page template from the drop-down on the right.
Immediately there should appear new meta-boxes also, same as home.
Home Layout section stand same as the Default Home page Home Layout section, and the Slider meta-box helps you choose the Posts on slider logic.
Creating Home With Revolution Slider
To create a revolution slider home page, you need to create a new Page first by going to Pages - Add New and choose "Revolution Slider" as a page template from the drop-down on the right.
Immediately there should appear new meta-boxes also, same as home.
Home Layout section stand same as the Default Home page Home Layout section.
Use the Revolution Slider textarea to paste the Revolution Slider Alias, which you can get after you created a slider from Revolution Slider page.
Creating Contact Form
To create a contact home page, you need to create a new Page first by going to Pages - Add New and choose "Contact" as a page template from the drop-down on the right.
Immediately there should appear new meta-boxes also, same as home.
Fill the fields there to complete the Page set-up, labels under the fields should explain easily where what should be configured.
Creating a Post (Media)
Well this should be the best part of the theme.
Cube uses Blog Posts, as a Media, and they are called so because they can be a Simple Magazine post with Gallery, an Audio post or a Video Post from Youtube/Vimeo or self-hosted video.
To create a new post go to Posts - Add New
Fill the Title and Post content from WYSIWYG editor.
The Media meta-box is the most important one.
If you want that post to be featured on home page, check Featured, but the home page should be configures also to display Featured Posts automatically, otherwise this wont have effect.
Than choose Media Type, if you want it to be Video,Audio or Magazine
Magazine :
Magazine Gallery : From there you can set-up a gallery for magazine, click add row to insert a new row where you can choose an Image.
Reviews : Add some personal reviews about this article
Video :
Video Type : Choose if this is an Embed Video or a Self Hosted One
Video URL : Place the URL from Youtube or Vimeo
If the video type is self hosted than you should see these custom fields :
Video MP4 : Upload a MP4 Encoded Video File, and other video formats below this field, and if you don't know how to encode videos on various formats use this Software : http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
Audios :
Audio Type : Choose if this is an SoundCloud Embed or a Self Hosted Audio
SoundCloud : Paste the Widget Code from SoundCloud not the WordPress Shortcode
If the Audio type is Self Hosted than you should see Audio Upload custom fields :
Audio MP3 : Upload an MP3 encoded Audio file, and other formats below this field, you can use the same Software to encode various Audio Formats
Related Posts :
Click on posts which you want to make them related to this one, or if you leave it blank, the system will try to find Related Posts based on Tags and Category
Options - Main Section
Custom CSS : Type custom CSS in this field, if you want to edit something
Custom JavaScript : Type custom Javascript there, or paste Google Analytics there
Search Autocomplete : Enable or Disable Search Autocomplete, which handles instant search
Comments Type : There you can choose if comments should be Facebook, Disqus or Native
Options - Sidebar
Sidebars : There you can create unlimited Sidebars, and use them later on Pages, Categories or Even on Posts, but this does not mean you have to set-up that for each of them, on Widgets you can see a Default Sidebar, which is the Sidebar which will be applied to each Page, Post or Category which has not defined a Sidebar.
Options : Twitter
The fields there are intuitive where you can configure them easily, the only thing is that you need to create a Twitter App from : twitter.com/apps and place the 4 Last Fields with informations which Twitter will give you
Options : Front-end Submission
Default Users Role : Chose the role which will be applied to each user which get registered from front-end
Default Post Status : Choose the default post status, if you want to review them by your self or site admins, than choose Draft as the default status
And Submit and Edit permalink, defines the keyword on the URL, and if you edit them, than you have to go to Settings - Permalinks and just click Save.
